End of Summer Picnic

Tuesday brings our usual end of summer picnic.

The Maas shelter at Gallup Park is reserved. The picnic is a potluck so you are asked to bring a dish to share with the group. Beverages and all utensils, plates, etc. are taken care of.

We start a bit earlier, at 6:30 pm, but you are welcome to come whenever you wish.

Women's Retreat Planning

Michigan Catholic Young Adult Conference

This weekend is the Michigan Catholic Young Adult Conference. While online registration has closed, you can register at the door. Consider joining us. There are some great speakers planned, the Bishop will join us on Friday, and our former associate pastor, Fr. John Linden will be presiding at Saturday's Mass.

Not Too Late!

It isn't too late to sign up for the Michigan Catholic Young Adult Conference (MICYAC). You can find out all about it here. The conference should be a great experience. You can come for both Friday night and Saturday or just the day on Saturday.

Also, check out the calendar for all our Lenten events - there are quite a few.

Ladies, mark your calendars now for the fall women's retreat - October 15-16 at Howell Nature Center. More information will be available in August or September. Those with ideas or an interest in helping to plan the retreat should contact Jen Delvaux.

Bible Study Begins Tonight

With the snow plowed, the way to the church is cleared! The youth room will be warmed and a pot of hot water will be waiting for you to make tea or hot cocoa.

We hope you can join us for the first Bible Study on the Gospel of Matthew tonight. If you want, you are welcome to bring your own Bible. If not, we have plenty on hand.

The Bible study will be a mixture of a bit of the theology, history, and understanding of the Gospel itself (when was it written, by whom, etc) and a look at what the text means to us, individually in regards to our faith journey and spirituality.

Join us at 7 pm in the youth room!

More Snow, No Meeting

Even though it is still clear outside and the plows have just about caught up from this morning's accumulation, I am canceling tonight. The blizzard warning takes effect at 7 pm and I don't think it is worth the chance.

Retreat & State Conference Registrations Open

Whew! We have a busy few months ahead.

The annual young adult retreat is February 19-20. We will be heading to FaHoLo Camp & Conference Center in Grass Lake where we will explore the phases of our faith life. There will be time to have large group presentations, small group discussions and sharing, and individual reflection. On Saturday night, Fr. Prabhu will join us to celebrate Mass. We will conclude on Sunday morning by 11:30 so you can get back to Ann Arbor by noon. For further details and to register, see the Retreat page.

Also, March 25-26 is the Michigan Catholic Young Adult Conference. You can see the full schedule of events on the webpage. You can register online for both days or just Saturday. Should you wish to stay overnight, there is information on how to make a reservation at the conference hotel or at other local hotels. There is a great schedule of events. Should you wish to attend, you may want to contact me first. If we have 6 or more people from St. Francis attending, we can get the group rate. I would need to have those 6 people (or more) contact me by February 15.

Snow means no meeting

Hi all,

Snow has begun to fall in earnest and the roads are a mess. Due to some major accidents already testifying to the conditions, I am going to cancel Ya2acht Club tonight. We'll reschedule the viewing of the second part of the movie for a later date.

Don't forget about dinner & planning next week! RSVP to me by Sunday night so I can prepare enough for dinner and bake a big enough cake.

Parish Common Conference
